Meet Valerie Nicholson
Valerie has been a practicing Registered Dietitian for more than 11 years and has spent most of her career in the field of eating disorders, primarily specializing in adolescents and families. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Bowling Green State University in 2010 and pursued her education at Kent State University receiving her Master of Science in Dietetics in 2012. She has been intensively trained in Family Based Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; and is Health at Every Size informed.
Elaina and Valerie met in their nutrition internship, and one could say “it was friends at first site”. They immediately shared a passion for food (literally of any kind) and the overwhelming need to help those who struggle with nutrition and love for their bodies. Valerie is energetic and genuine when working with her clients and families; her goal for each of them is to build a healthy relationship with food and create a nutritional plan that is unique to them and their goals. Along with Elaina, she is passionate about providing evidence-based nutrition and fighting against diet culture and weight stigma. She is determined to be part of the change and help clients create food freedom and body positivity.
